Recommendations

In Placencia (and Belize) we usually have fair conditions with sunny skies and light wind, however as nature is there are stormy days and nights, depending on the time of the year we have different weather patterns in winter we sometimes we have northerly wind storms that would make us cancel in summer we have southwester storms that come in strong in the night and clear up by morning.

Because of it being unpredictable (even with the forecasts that are available) we are not able to make a decision until early in the morning.. Most days are salvageable and we are able to provide a great day out, but at times we would need to postpone/cancel we will advise accordingly in such circumstances.

If you have a confirmed charter reservation and the weather appears to be questionable, pls check your Email/WhatsApp in the morning, more than likely we’ve contacted you to discuss it, if, for some reason we didn’t then we ask that you call, email, WhatsApp or come to our office and check-in as to the status of the trip. We can then discuss the situation and decide how to  proceed after considering all angles and options.

Often times we have morning squall that quickly clear up before our departure time, or we might delay departure to wait for it to pass, or we might postpone to another date or cancel if we believe it will not be favorable.

All in all we strive to provide an enjoyable experience for all our clients, so we will not take you out in weather that we know won’t be enjoyable or safe. After all it’s a vacation, it should be fun.

Guests are advised to obtain adequate travel insurance to cover cancellation due to ill health, accident, etc.. Our friends and colleagues at DAN offer trip insurance to cover all your travel needs. For more details please see: https://www.diversalertnetwork.org/travel/
